MIMA’s Statement on the Mission Zero Coalition’s Report: “Building Mission Zero - Mission Retrofit“
MIMA’s Executive Director, Sarah Kostense-Winterton comments, “Today's report by Building Mission Zero summarises the current state of play and industry views on the energy performance of the UK's building stock, sending a clear message that a renewed focus on insulating buildings and reducing energy demand, alongside decarbonising heat, is needed to help stimulate the economy, meet carbon budgets, and to cut people's fuel bills for good.
Better insulation is the foundation for a truly successful, once in a generation, transition to a net zero carbon building stock. Non combustible mineral wool insulation will be a key solution as part of a whole-building approach to the retrofit, with MIMA's members able to provide expert advice on how to achieve quality installations and end-to-end quality assurance."
